Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient |
---|---|
2 tbsp | canola oil |
1 lb | ground beef |
1 | onion, diced |
1 | red bell pepper, diced |
½ cup | low-sodium teriyaki sauce, divided |
⅓ cup | barbecue sauce |
4 tsp | Better Than Bouillon® Roasted Beef Base |
1 bag | (12 oz) coleslaw mix with dressing |
2 | green onions, thinly sliced |
6 | sesame seed buns, split and toasted |
Directions
In large skillet set over medium-high heat, heat oil. Cook beef, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 8 minutes or until starting to brown. Stir in onion and red pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes or until vegetables are starting to soften.
Stir in 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce, barbecue sauce, Roasted Beef Base and 1/4 cup water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 8 minutes or until sauce is thickened and beef is cooked through.
In medium bowl, toss coleslaw with dressing, remaining teriyaki sauce and green onions.
Divide sloppy joe mixture evenly among toasted buns and top evenly with coleslaw.
Tip: Alternatively, serve teriyaki sloppy joes and coleslaw over rice as a rice bowl. Add avocado, cucumbers and radishes. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
