Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1⅓ lbs ground beef
1 tbsp Better Than Bouillon® Roasted Beef Base
1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
4 tsp canola oil
4 slices American cheese
2 tbsp garlic butter, softened
4 burger buns, split and toasted
4 leaves lettuce
4 thick tomato slices
4 thinly sliced red onion
16 bread-and-butter pickles
¼ cup mayo
¼ cup mustard

Directions

  • 1

Heat griddle or large cast-iron skillet set over medium heat.

  • 2

In medium bowl, stir together beef, Roasted Beef Base and pepper. Divide mixture into 4 portions and roll into balls.

  • 3

Brush pan with oil. Add burger balls; using heatproof spatula, flatten each to 1/2-inch thickness. Cook, turning once, for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown, cooked through, no longer pink and instant-read thermometer registers 160°F when inserted into center of burgers.

  • 4

Top each patty with an American cheese slice and cook for 1 more minute or until cheese has started to melt.

  • 5

Spread garlic butter on burger buns. Assemble burgers in buns with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayonnaise and mustard.

Tip: Substitute American cheese with slices of Cheddar or Swiss cheese if preferred
