Try this savory sweet potato recipe for a delicious side dish

2 Tbsp | vegetable oil |
1 Tbsp | butter |
1½ Tbsp | Better Than Bouillon® Seasoned Vegetable Base |
3 lbs | sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into ½ inch pieces |
½ tsp | ground nutmeg |
½ cup | pure maple syrup |
⅓ cup | firmly packed dark brown sugar (topping) |
Directions
Preheat an oven to 350°F.
In a large preferably cast iron or ovenproof skillet, heat over medium heat.
Add oil, butter and Vegetable Base, cook and stir about 2 minutes.
Increase heat to medium-high, add potato pieces and sprinkle with nutmeg, cook and stir about 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium, pour maple syrup over potatoes; cook and stir about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat, top with brown sugar, place in oven and bake until fork tender, about 10 - 15 minutes
