Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 large prepared roasted red peppers, drained well
2 shallots, coarsely chopped
⅓ cup tomato paste
2 Tbsp Better Than Bouillon® Roasted Beef Base
4 cloves garlic
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp pepper
¼ tsp allspice
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
1 Pinch cinnamon
12 oz lean ground beef
1 lb store-bought pizza dough
2 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup finely chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  • 1

Preheat oven to 450˚F. In food processor, blend red peppers, shallots, tomato paste, Roasted Beef Base, garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, pepper, allspice, cayenne and cinnamon until smooth. Stir together with ground beef.

  • 2

On lightly floured work surface, cut dough into 4 portions. Roll out each portion into 12-inch round, about 1/8-inch thick. Transfer to parchment paper–lined baking sheets.

  • 3

Spread beef mixture thinly over each round. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown and beef is cooked through.

  • 4

Drizzle oil over flatbreads; sprinkle with parsley before serving.

Tip: Substitute ground lamb, turkey or pork for ground beef if desired.
