Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient |
---|---|
1 Tbsp | unsalted butter, softened |
8 | eggs |
1¼ cup | heavy or whipping (35%) cream |
1 Tbsp | Better Than Bouillon® Sautéed Onion Base |
½ tsp | black pepper |
½ tsp | dried thyme |
6 | scallions, thinly sliced |
1½ cup | shredded Swiss cheese |
½ cup | chopped cooked bacon |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease 10-inch deep dish pie plate with butter.
In large bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, Roasted Onion Base, pepper and thyme until blended and smooth. Stir in scallions, cheese, and bacon. Pour egg mixture into pie plate and smooth top.
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until center is just set and top is golden.
Tips: Substitute Swiss cheese with Gruyère or sharp (old) Cheddar cheese for variation. Serve quiche with a simple green salad for a more veggie-full dinner.
